Pitching

A pitch shot is an in-between shot. It is neither a full-swing wedge shot from 75 yards and beyond nor a bump and run chip shot a few yards from the green. Here is the pitching portion from the earlier video.

I’d rather prefer a full-swing wedge shot from 75 yards and up or a chip shot near the green that is much easier to execute than a pitch shot. Pitching requires finesse and needs a bit of practice to get better.

For pitching, I use a single club (sand wedge). I think of pitching as a pendulum. For a shorter shot, I have a shorter pendulum arc. For a longer shot, I have a longer pendulum arc.

I know once I get better at pitching I can impress my playing partners!

Tip: Between chipping and pitching if I can chip, I always chip as it is the second easiest shot in golf!
